About Fine Art prints
Inkography is a contemporary type of printmaking, a branch of art in which the actual work is a print. What inkography has in common with printmaking is the ability to reproduce. It is distinguished from reproduction by two main elements: limited edition, additionally signed by the artist quality of execution.
Special cotton papers and canvases are used for inkography. The one we use is made entirely of cotton. It has no synthetic additives or bleaching agents and is acid-free. Thanks to its heavily matte finish, it meets the highest standards in terms of density, color gamut, tonal transitions and image sharpness.
Printing excellence, in turn, consists of two factors: the type of professional machines and special inks. Home or offset printers mix four inks in basic colors. Pigment ones have more inks – from eight to even twelve. Such a large number of output colors gives the possibility of smooth tonal transitions and an extremely wide range of colors. Such inks are produced on the basis of resins. As a result, the prints are definitely more resistant to fading.
The quality of the paper, canvases and printing guarantee durability for up to 200 years of indoor display without color change. This is museum grade, the works retain both adequate color fastness and image sharpness.
Other terms used interchangeably for inkography are digital print, giclée or fine art print.
